This spring, where should you be for one of Cleveland’s finest social and culinary evenings?  The 17th Annual Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Awards Party, of course!

The 17th Annual Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Awards Party will take place on Thursday, May 26 at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center. This event is a strolling food and wine tasting event that benefits the Arthritis Foundation, Great Lakes Region, Northeastern Ohio.  This year’s event is presented by The Huntington National Bank.

From 6 to 9 p.m., guests will sample delicious signature dishes from nearly 30 of Northeast Ohio’s best restaurants and several international wineries—all of whom are 2011 Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Award winners.  Fabulous live and silent auctions will include an array of treasures including a trip to New York City for the taping of the The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, a Progressive Insurance art experience, a private dinner catered by Dim and Den Sum chef Chris Hodgson, and more!

For those looking for something a bit more exclusive, the Hot in Cleveland VIP Lounge will highlight current food trends featuring exclusive from B Spot Burgers, Dim and Den Sum and The Greenhouse Tavern! We are pleased to announce unique auction item! Donated by Pride of Cleveland Scooters, this Buddy 4-stroke scooter features an air-cooled engine and automatic transmission. The scooter reaches top speed at 60 MPH!

Studies suggest that, “extensive use of the electric scooter could result in savings of up to 14 million gallons of gas, per day, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 324 million pounds per day” (Electric Scooters and the Environment). Consider this auction item as an investment in the greening of our community!

L’Amour du Vin Venue Highlights

With the 13^th Annual L’Amour du Vin less than three weeks away, we are proud to highlight this year’s venue: The 2010 L’Amour du Vin is going to be held at Avon Oaks Country Club!

This beautiful golf and fitness facility is one of the finest venues in the Northeast Ohio regions. The course proudly challenges both beginner and novice golfer alike with its 6,720 yard, par 72, 18-hole manicured greens.  Famed architect, Harold Paddock, created this classic vision, and the course, today, is survived by Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Huntley.  

The facility, itself, is home to an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, a fully-equipped fitness center, and four banquet rooms. The banquet halls offer both casual and fine dining with a well-rounded menu; furthermore, Avon Oaks Country Club plans to provide a delectable pasta station at the event.
